Default HELP stuck rotors

So today I bought new front brake pads for my 98 ss. The car has 72,000 miles on the original brakes. I pulled off the calipers and compressed both pistons all the way using the old brake pad and a C-Clamp. I put in the new brake pads and tightened the caliper back on the rotor. When I put the wheel back on and tightened the lug nuts. The wheel was basically frozen, it was really hard to turn which it shouldn't be. I need help on what is wrong, I was thinking maybe new rotors?

Take it apart and try it again. Maybe you didn't seat the rotor or wheel all the way/correctly, happened to me before.

You have something cocked sideways. Did the caliper slide on easily?

Next time spin the rotor before you reassemble to make sure it's good.

The caliper went on pretty easy and yea everything spins easy until you bolt the wheel on and put pressure against the brake rotor. I don't know if my 2002 Z06 rims 9.5"x17" have anything to do with the situation. Cause I'm stumped I've had the assembly taken apart and put back together about 5 times and this is binding up on both front rotors.

Are those the bracket shims that go on the top and bottom of the brake pad? Cause if they are I didn't touch them.

No its what the caliper slides on, I had this problem just last week, I had a seized caliper pin. See if you can move the caliper at all.

My wheel won't turn issue from last week.

If you have a seized pin it will take some work to get out, hopefully you will get it out. Good luck finding a new or used caliper bracket locally if it doesn't!

but the OP mentions that the rotor spins clear until the wheel is mounted. If the caliper pin was stuck it wouldn't move at any point, no?

I wonder if you can try tightening the lugs onto the rotor without the wheel to rule that out. just do it gradually and in the opposing pattern since it isn't spread out over the wheel mounting hub.

I assume these are the same wheels. Sounds like the rotor wasn't flush to the hub, and because the pins aren't sliding, when you tighten the lugs the rotor is upgainst the inside pad. Try like mentioned above - just the lugs and see what you have.

OK, sounds like the pins, take them out, lube them up and you should be good to go.
