Default new front strut knocking sound help

ok i got a new set of bilstein shocks and struts for my 97 z28 and took the front struts to get the old springs +shock mounts put on and now that they are installed the drivers side is making a knocking noise on bumps its real loud and anoying it didnt make this sound before ps also installed new tie rods,upper control arm bushings and ball joints please help if u know what the problem is asap im thinking the shock mount but not 100 percent anyone have a break down pics of the front strut assembly?

You most likely did not get the nut on top tight enough. A common error.

You have to make sure the spring is compressed enough and then tighten the nut until it stops.

BTW - they're not struts.

I think Ironhead is right as well. I did the same thing installing my Bilstein/SLP stuff. Turned out the dust boot on the front was rattling around due to the top shock nut not being tight enough- like maybe 2-3 turns. I corrected this without the spring compressor since I had returned it (borrow program) already. The noise was gone completely after this!
