Default Adjustable Upper A-Arms

What is the point to adjustable upper AND lower a-arms? I know the lowers are there to adjust camber. Would it be to move the wheel in and out of the wheel well?

If not, can the combination of the two be used to do so if wanted?*

*My driver side wheel is in more than my passenger side by about 1/2".

The most obvious reason to go tubular upper/lower is weight. Not so much for the upper, but you can shed 5 or 6 pounds by replacing the lowers.

Moving the lower outward (more camber) limits the amount of caster that can be dialed in. I've seen cars that could get -2.5* camber but couldn't more than +3.5* caster.

Moving the upper inward (more camber) allows more caster to be dialed in. With the same -2.5* camber, now the caster can be +7* or even more.

The same can be had by using Sam's offset upper bushings.
