Default Possible Stripped Strut Mount Bolts

The 3 of the 4 rear bolts on my upper strut mounts just spin when when I try to remove them. They have been switched from torx to hex bolts at some point in time. Is the threaded portion on the upper strut mount possibly spinning on me or could the previous owner possible installed the wrong size/thread pitch bolts? Anyone else experience this problem.

Aftermarket strut mounts tend to have a metal sleeve that the bolts are threaded into and these are known to start spinning when tightening or removing the bolts. It has happened to me. Have someone turn the bolts while you look at the strut mount from in the wheel well and see if their spinning.

Happened to me as well.

I purchased stainless steel bolts and nylocks at my local Lowe's and drilled out the threaded inserts to make them fit. I couldn't see pitching a $40 upper over $5 worth of fastners.

The studs were fine and I use them to "locate" the mount.
