I've had brand new cars do this. As far as I know it's just the fact of having wide front tires that grip. I've had trucks with big tires do the same thing. My 2010 focus does what some call tramlining down the highway that has the longitudinal grooves in the concrete. What a pain that is.

My '84 with 245-50-16 tires did it and my 02 SS has done it since day one with Decarbon shocks/stock springs. FWIW, my SLP Bilstein SLP Eibachs did it and my Strano Koni combo does it, Watts link, you guessed it, STILL tramlines, new rubber, alignment etc. It's got to be the width of the tires not fitting in the grooves in the road -instead riding up and down them. It only really bothers me when I'm braking hard, you know, to avoid an accident, and at the same time having to fight the wheel to keep the car on the intended path! Disconcerting to say the least! I wonder if different alignment specs could influence this tendency?

I had some Perilli PZero Rosso tires that were really bad at doing the same thing, IMO its your tires.
Not all tires in a 275/35/18 I've had(Dunlop, Falken) done it, only the Perilli tires.
I would also still get the alignment checked, since it's cheaper than new tires.

I had the same problem. I noticed it after I upgraded tires to a 275 NT05 Nitto. My dd is a silverado and it doesn't wander AT ALL, and it's what I have been driving for 4 years other than my Camaro, so I am still getting used to the "wandering."

Camber can also play a large role in Tramlining. Running 0 camber can help alot to reduce the effects, but with wide tires with stiff sidewalls and sticky tread, it is virtually impossible eliminate.

I agree with the bigger tires are the cause however I had BF Goodrich KTW on my mustang and when I switched to Nittos It was night and day difference. Nittos drove a tone better. Not nearly as much wondering on the road. I have Goodyear F1 on my TA 275's in front and they aren't bad at all. And the roads here in MO. suck!

My BFG KDW NT2's don't do it that bad for a 275/35.
NT555's did it a little but, but the Nexen N3000's were awful for it.
But yeah, like others said, it's part of having the wide tires.

Less stickier front tire. My 275/40/17 Nitto 555 street tires never gave me this issue. They are 300 treadwear.. really nice comfy quiet ride and awesome wear capability. I like my grandma tires for daily driving. Sticky tires are for racing
