Is your 'brake' and 'traction control' light on as well? If so, it's the ABS module. They are around $50 used, but $300+ new.

If only one light is on, get the codes checked with an OBDII scanner that can read ABS codes.

Do you have access to something like HPTuners?

Mine told me that it was my right rear sensor.
I swapped it with the left rear sensor and the error code stayed the same.

I checked the wiring by the wheel and exhaust and it all looked good, so I thought it was my EBCM (as stated above). I have 4 ch / Traction control, those are harder to find.
Bought one.
Same error.

Pissed off, I jacked up the rear and traced the wire further in.

I found it had rubbed against the diff for so long that it broke through the insulation.

fixed.

It's just the ABS INOP light... I just replaced the alternator, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

Get it scanned for sure.

Are you sure your other lights are good? Do they light up when you start your car?

Fuc. Both my lights just went on! What casues this. Yeah, my car has 119,000 miles on it, and it's a '98. Are these things rigged from the factory to go out at a predertermined milage? Going to get the codes read tomorrow.

If both lights come on I'm pretty sure that's voltage/battery related. My alternator was bad and my battery voltage kept getting too low, and both came on.

I just realized this might be because of the SS spoiler I just installed.... aren't you supposed to use a relay or something for the LED's?

Okay, so typically, how long should the stock alternator be expected to last? Or the ABS sensor for that matter.

Mine came on at 150k miles. Gonna scan the codes later today, The ABS INOP light came on solid since start up. Seems to only be on cold days. It dosn't always come on.
Today my ABS INOP light didn't come on, but AIR BAG light was on solid and then Service Vehicle came on too.

You could double check that the connector on the driver side in front of the rear axle is connected tightly. Especially if you had the car strapped down to a trailer or dyno recently.
