most people will say its better to just weld them on.. I guess people dont trust bolts , saying they will shift..
I havent had time to have mine welded on , but Id suggest having them welded on too ..

I purchased the weld ons. A few friends of mine said they had the bolt ons and both of them said they had probs with the bolt holes warping or widening from the stress the SFCs were putting on them due to torque. Not sure if that's the Case for everyone but they said the torque will eventually loosen the bolts. I just played it safe and got the weld ons. I guess it's your preference really.

Play it safe and do it once and do it right. I went with the weld on 3pt sfc's from umi and they were worth every penny!

Buy the bolt ins, install them yourself then take it to a shop to do a quick weld. save ya some money. i personally never had problems with the bolt holes getting bigger or whatever. That way you will have 2 bolts and weld holding it place.

welds could break or crack so a bolt will be a little more security if that were to happen. not saying it will but ya never know. Atleast you wont have a hanging subframe if your driving down the road

3pt sfc's from umi
I got these in bolt on and love 'em. Sure I could weld them some day when I feel like pulling the interior and putting the car on a lift.

I went welded for rigidity -ensure you direct the shop doing the welding that they do it on a four-post lift.

No need to take the interior out to weld. I didn't have any problems with mine.

I have UMI bolt in 3 point subframe connectors. They definitely seem to help and I think the stuff about the bolt holes getting enlarged is bullshit. The good thing about the bolt in ones is that you can always have them welded in later.

Welding on any item related to chassis reinforcement is always going to be best. However we have had great luck with our bolt on set ups, no issues of loose or stretched bolts. If the car is exposed to racing I recommend welding, for a street car the bolt ons would be fine. Also like mentioned the bolt on styles can be welded at any time.

I hope that helps,
Ryan

That's good news. A buddy told me stories of people burning their carpet from putting on weld-ins.

Why weld them on, what if you get a cage in the future?

If you're going to do bolt-ons like with UMI's get the ones meant to be welded and get the bolt kit -- that way you have the extra weld-points if you decide to weld it in the future!
