Default CTS-V Brakes with Spare Tire

I am considering putting the CTS-V 4 piston brakes on my 94 Z28. I drive it every day and all over Mississippi. If I do change to these brakes, I am going to get 18s without run-flat tires. Will the Camaro's spare fit over these brakes? If they do not, is there a spare tire that will fit over the large brakes?

A stock spare is not going to clear CTS-V calipers. A can of fix a flat and a cigarette lighter mini compressor would give some peace of mind.

If you keep the stock rear rotor size, and have the same width wheels front and back you could always put the spare on the back and move the rear to the front to replace a flat.

The rear tires would be larger, but that is still an option to get to a tire patching shop. I also like the idea of air compressor and slime.

I have AAA, but waiting for 4 hours because of a flat tire is not the most appealing idea. Some rural areas that I drive through would take a while for a service truck to arrive. I would like to have a backup plan.

That will give the differential a quick death.

What about a GTO spare? those are 17"...might be worth looking into. They are usually about $100 on ebay. If it doesnt work, you can easily resell it because a lot of people use them as skinnies up front for a slicks/skinnies setup.

That is news to me. I have never heard that you could not put a spare on the back of the car before?

Edit: I did some more research and found the issues with compact spares on the LSD, however the owner's manual says that the spare can be used on the rear but speeds have to be less than 50mph to avoid damage. So my question is the manual correct or was GM being overly optimistic?

I believe if you drive on a tiny spare tire on the rear, then you should drive slow and only as far as you need to get the tire fixed. I have driven several times over the past 15 years on my car with no damage.

Digging this up from the dead but I'm doing the conversion and plan on going to the track also. So what kind of front runner will work over the brakes? Gto spare? After market?
