Default steering wheel shaking while over 45mph

Just put on new ball joints, outer tie rod ends and had alignment done but the steering wheel shakes when I go over 45mph. Car will go straight when its shaking and the shaking will be less when you turn the wheel to go with the curve of the road. Any ideas on where to check?

Was this happening before you replaced the parts and does it all stop at a certain speed?

It was doing this before I replaced the new parts. It will stop shaking once the car is under 40-45mph. On "freshly paved" roads the car does not shake at any speed.

Does it stop on the highway as you approach 65 or 70 mph? If so, its a tire balance issue.

Do you know how many miles are on your front hubs/bearings?

Yes, it tends to go away around 65-70mph and at 75 it just feels like bumps in the road.

As far as wheel hubs/bearings I'm not sure but, I'd have to ask the previous owner if he remembers.

Then you just need to get your wheels balanced. A hub issue would not go away.

Yup, had the same problem last week. Took them to the place where I got the tires and the stick on weights had "un stuck". Cleaned the inside of the wheel, balanced it up and problem solved. Good luck man.

Good. Was just gonna reply that it sounds exactly like a wheel balancing issue. Been there, done that.

back from the dead!
when the steering wheel shakes its normally a out of balance wheel and tire combo, shifted belt in the tire or a bent rim.
check your steering and suspension for damage
you can have the tires road force balanced, its a "better" way then the normal balance. iv balanced tires and they still would shake but the balancer said they were fine, then i road force balanced them and the shake went away
