Default C5 emergency brake

Hello all. I'm in the middle of my C5 brake conversion. kind of wondering about the emergency brake setup. Is it worth the effort to convert to the corvette setup which uses the caliper, or retain the 98 T/A styles with the shoes inside the rotor? Doesnt seem like it would be very difficult to switch it over. Or just remove the emergency brake portion from the c5 caliper, and call it a day..
As an Fyi.. the C5 and fourth gen rear disc calipers are identical. the "baskets" and pads are car specific, and the emergency brake setup is different. I'm just switching the rears because they're red....

What are these so called baskets?

Can you post a picture? Little Red Riding Hood had a basket, I don't remember seeing one on my car.
