Question Question about my slp springs on my 99 SS.

My car came with the slp springs and bilsteins. The original owner I purchased the car from had replaced the bilsteins with some sensa tracks. It appears as if though it still has the slp/eibach springs on it. I was wanting to put some new bilsteins on it (I've used them before and they are what I like), but I was also considering another pro kit like I had on my previous camaro with bilsteins. So my question is, would it be worth it to install new springs or should I just through on new shocks and leave the springs. I was under the assumption these springs were like a 3/4 inch drop but it looks like a normal spring height to me when sitting next to another Z or v6 in the parking lot. I called slp and they verified that my car came with their springs, shocks, and sway bars. My springs look like a dark grey powder coat, but they are so old, you can't see any marking on them if there was one. What do you guys think?

SLP/Eibachs are a cobalt blue color. Wipe the dirt off and make sure thats what you actually have.

Nope, definantly not whar I have then. Mine are black in color and definantly not loweing springs. Now I'm wondering if they got swapped at the same time the shocks did.

Regular stock GM spring are a dull black painted looking finish, those must be the slp/Eibach spring that you can buy separately . I know I had some LT1 pro-kit springs that were a dark grey powder coat, this was back in 2000.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the pro kit as well. I've run it on two of my older cars before. I got up under the car and cleaned up one of the springs and they are defiantly stockers. Now I'm pissed because when I verified the vin with slp they told me that this car originally came with the spring and shock kit along with sway bars. So its apparent the previous owner of this car, who was the original owner, didnt tell me everything.

I spent a year in Afghanistan to afford those Koni's. And nothing about that was nice.

When I finally pulled my springs off they were a dark grey powder coat. On both the front and rear spring they had SLP and numbers that were white on them. I don't recall the numbers but I remember one of them was like 400 and the other was like 250.

I pulled those and installed BMR's with the Koni SA. I installed them using the heater hose mod in the rear and the lower perch on the front. Couldn't be happier. I know it's not the ideally recommended set up with this pair but it gave me the look I was going for and with my other suspension mods handles exceptional.

If you think Koni's are bad, try paying for a wedding.

Interesting. I bought my car from the orginal owner who said that the shocks were the only thing he ever replaced on the car. He said aside from the shocks everything on it was just the way he drove off the showroom with it. The shocks obviously were replaced like he said but there was nothing on the car that made me think otherwise of his word. From everything I can find, my springs most closely resembled the Eibach SLP kit in their physical appearance and the way the car was sitting compared to a car with stock springs. I'm wondering if some cars got those instead of the blue ones previously mentioned and pictured in this thread. Just a though.
