Default stiff steering - bad p/s pump?

The car is an 01 Formula 6spd with about 63K miles.

The steering is very stiff, I have replaced the pump with a good working unit, but the steering is still stiff compared to my previous F-bodies.

There is no whining, noise, or any vibration from the pump while the wheel is being turned, no leaks anywhere, the rack itself is clean as well. I've had the fluid flushed thoroughly after the pump was replaced.

Prior to the pump being replaced, during cold temperatures, I noticed that the steering wheel was much easier to turn, then as it warmed up, the stiff steering returned.

Is there something I missed? What else can I check, any ideas?

Thanks.

anyone?

The car is sitting, haven't drove it all day since the pump replacement. I hope it will "break in" or something.
