Lowering Help
OK, so im pretty close to ordering some 17/18 black c6 z06 wheels 10.5 in back and i've decided to run a 285 with factory springs and shocks so no fitment issues. BUT.. i was sitting at home watching "the office" (love that show) when a buddy texted me offering 4 lowering springs, says they are 2" but to him appear to look more like 1.5". Red but doesn't know the brand cuz he bought them off someone a while back. fronts come with stock shocks. they look good on his ss. my main concern was if the 10.5 with a 285 (and possibly upgrading to a 315 radial later) would work. i know id need an alignment right after but would anything else be needed? he's wanting 175 for 4 springs/2stock shocks.. should i jump on this or buy new and maybe a 1.25 drop? Thanks guys

im lowered with BMR springs too (97 Z) im lowered about 1". my 275/40R17 on all 4 corners.
looks like mine could clear those 295/35R18, i highly doubt the 315's.
I say you're probably gonna gave to roll those fenders.

I'd get the rims on first (and you may find you get an ABS
problem with the offset diameters, especially if you also
alter width / profile) to see how well they fill the hole.
17" with 285s and -1" looks reasonable to me, more drop
and bigger wheels might look funny. But everybody's got
a different opinion of proper.
I would not buy mystery springs when you can't even
agree on the drop.

I agree with jimmyblue that youre taking a risk on an unknown spring. Also, I dont think anybody mentioned that you might need to recenter your rearend once you lower.
