Default which rotors & pads rust proof ?

What are some good performing rotors and pads that won't break the bank . I'm getting 17" chrome c5's and I don't want them to look crappy with the new wheels. Can I also upgrade the size of the rotor or does it not matter ? I know I live in north east but I won't be driving in the winter. Right now my calipers were painted red soo once I pull the wheels I would like to to paint them again soo what is a good caliper paint that won't chip off. I just want my shoes to look good on my soon to be fresh black paint job on my '98 camaro

I have the original rotors on my car, and running Hawk HP+ pads. No rusting issues here, but my car has been sitting in the garage 20+ days out of the month as of late. I hate stormy weather for that reason -.- stops on a dime for me, and haven't experienced fade in DD circumstances even up and down 6 miles of 7% grade mountain every time I drive it (and those are usually a very spirited 6 miles... lol)

The ATE Rotors I sell are coated, not just zinc plated. They will not rust on the hat or edges.... Of course where the pads run, that will get surface rust from sitting like all rotors because any coating will be worn off by the pads immediately.

I have a package (more than one acutally) that has the ATE rotors and Hawk HPS pads. I also have other pads like HP+, EBC (not on the site), ATE's, Porterfield and PowerStop too.

Here's is the basic ATE PremiumOne rotor and Hawk pad kit: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...=191&ModelID=7

Are there cheaper options? Sure are. Part of what makes this good is the fact the rotors are not cheap crap that someone modifies, and they have a real, baked on, durable coating that's applied at almost 600 degrees. It's the difference between spraying metal with a coat of zinc primer, and powdercoating it.

As I stated, I have less expensive options.... but not for rotors that won't (as in will not, not delay the onset of) rust.

I've actually had those Rotorworks on mine since about 06. Was just wondering about the rust the other day and went out to look. No rust.. Like strano said, the pad wear area may have some surface rust, but driving it will kill that. Mine are rust free on the hats and edges.

Hawk HPS pads still look good and very little dust from them.

Bosch QuietCast Rotors are another option with a corrosion resistant coating - these are what I am putting on my RS, which is a year-round daily driver that sees snow, salt, rain, the works...

They can be had for $60/ea/front & $45/ea/rear...
