Default Driveline vibe/strange drone?

Just put a new T56, 3.5" DS with a 1350-3r yoke > stock 10 bolt, and BMR Relocation Crossmember. Pinion angle is right around -2 (may be off since was first time doing it).

Up until about 55mph the car is smooth, around 55mph to say 75ish there is almost a droning kinda noise that you would associate with exhaust drone but you can basically feel it through the floor of the car? (it's not the exhaust drone and still there when clutched in) around 75mph the car starts vibrating also.

Is this a symptom of bad pinion angle? Or is there something more? The car has poly motor/trans mount.

most likely bad pinion angle or crooked driveline from crossmember swap. i'd check driveline alignment first(engine/trans straight in car), then reduce your pinion angle to -1.5 degrees. -2 will do nothing more for you but cause vibes.

Your poly engine/trans mounts are for sure transmitting more vibes into the car than anything else... If it were me I'd put the stock ones back in as the only gains from poly are vibes.

I mostly agree with ssvert, but I would only reinstall a stock trans mount. The poly motor mount causes only a minimal increase in feeling the vibrations.

Do they make a stock trans mount that won't break with the first hard shift now? I've been wanting to go back to a rubber one for awhile now, but I don't feel like changing them monthly.

bad axle bearing/axle shaft surface will most likely cause a groan that will just get worse with speed. "drone" is usually driveline related.

hmm, maybe that's a better description of it. Either way this weekend I'll do both rear hubs and fix the driveline angle. Any good references for setting the angle?
