I just got in my Founders sub-frame connectors... I've been calling around to get them welded in and one guy told me that he HAD to take out all the interior or it was going to catch on fire. I think he's wrong... what's the real answer?

You don't need to take out any interior at all.. get the car in the air with the suspension loaded and weld away.. If that guy can't confidently weld without burning all the way through to the carpet then a find a new guy

I've never seen anyone remove interior or carpet to weld in sub frame connectors on a f body.

However, I have heard of interiors catching fire while welding under or around the frame of a car.

A roll cage, yes interior should all come out. Sub frame connectors no.

I do not believe that he is correct. Never heard of anyone doing that.

he just wants more money i just did mine last week the floor never even got hot... i even welded them to the pinch welds
