GMHTP STi Killer timelapse - Turn One steering rack and Bear tie rod end install
Fun little video we made today following the install/photoshoot of a Turn One power steering rack, along with a set of Bear tie rod ends (to correct bump steer), and our new Toyo R888 tires. Full notes/pics in the next issue of GMHTP (as always) but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Special thanks to AntiVenom in Seffner, FL for their continued support on the car.

Oh and before anyone asks, the wheels are from Weld Racing!

The rack is a rebuilt stock unit by TurnOne. We also have their awesome power steering pump and it's been a great piece, never once overheating the fluid even under heavy, repeated stress. Hopefully the rack works just as well!
Tie Rod ends are from Baer and we installed them to take care of a little bump steer issue we ran into with the super-low BMR suspension. Plus, they are nice a beefy, so we should grab a little extra feel out of the whole deal, which is great.
sjsinlge1 - well, low enough to induce bump steer, honestly. I know that's a vague answer but there doesn't seem to be a "fixed" answer. If you're over 2-inches down, I would recommend that you have your toe checked (both at rest and under compression) and see if you're running into a problem.

Summit Racing - Baer Brakes Tracker Tie Rod Ends
You're going to have to read the article to find out exactly what's done to the Turn One rack (sorry!), but it is hand-assembled, tested, and completely rebuilt by them. Similar to stock but cheaper than a new unit!

It's not something they advertise (currently) but if you call, they can fill you in on all of the details. If your rack is still in great shape, you probably don't have to worry about it (right now) but if yours felt like ours did... well, get on it!

Nice video, I love that car! Looking forward to the next issue.
I'll be lowered approx. 2.2" when I finish installing my BMR lowering a-arms. Bump steer hadn't really crossed my mind. Would you say those Baer tie rods are suited for daily driven cars?

Hmm, I have a spare rack that needs to be rebuilt...maybe they can make it have more travel. Good stuff, cant wait for this issue. Every time I see this car though, it makes me want to spend $2K on wheels
