Default Kmember shim? How much is too much?

Ran into a slight dimensional issue and am running through a few options to resolve. Intake height has put me just over 1/4" from comfort as I planned on at least a 1/2" shim......apparently I need about 3/4"

So what to do.....

1. Take the car back to the body shop for additional cowl clearance....no shim.

2. Is 3/4" shim too much? What's required downstream? Trans, etc.

3. Modify Kmember (shorten engine mount towers).....would require lowering steering rack (Morosso oil pan). UMI K.....

I'd clearance the cowl. Seems like the quickest/easiest way to handle it.

I have done a k-member with lowered mounts and crosstube before. What about your steering shaft if you lower your k-member... can you stretch them? never tried.

Perfect timing! Was going to call you tomorrow.... I think the shaft will reach. Otherwise, it would be custom as well.

Just don't like the idea of 3/4" shim under there....thoughts?
