We have a couple different options of strut tower brace if you are interested. We make a mild steel version, chrome moly strut tower brace, and we our extreme strut tower brace. Most customers stick to the mild steel BMR strut tower brace due to the affordability of it. Give me a call here at the shop and I can see what I can do on pricing for a BMR strut tower brace.
mild steel = soft and heavy, excellent for farm use.
chrome moly = adds lightness & strength, the real deal.

I have a UMI mild steel brace and I have scratched the living sh't out of it over the years so I'd go with the cheapest option. I switched to founders from UMI parts and I can't tell the difference apples for apples.

Yeah thats about right. Ive had em both in hand and its about a half pound difference if that and it feels a little sturdier but i just dont see spending 80 extra for half a pound

I also have a non-chrome moly from UMI. Seems fine. No complaints. If you can pick it up cheap, I'd say go for it.
