Default PICS - Strano Sway Bar Install Fixed

So I just finished installing Strano sway bars (35/22) and UMI sway bar spacers/U-bolts. The car drives great! But now I only have less than 3" of ground clearance (see pics).

Did I do something wrong on the install? Should I have used the UMI endlinks instead of the ones that Sam sent with his rear bar? Would that bring the bar up closer to the differential? I just want to be done so I can enjoy the car again. Please help.

Try to get/post a pic of the end links. The ends of the bar that point forward should be damn-near, if not parallel, to the ground. Im almost thinking its upside-down...

I can try to get under there, the car sits pretty low so it is hard to get a pic without putting the car up on jackstands. I thought that if the bend in the middle was down, then it wouldn't be upside down. But I guess I can give it a try. I am open to anything.

Heres an old pic of my stock bar after lowering the car over 2" and the ends point down. Hard to see but yours almost seem to point up

I am pretty sure you are right. Going to eat lunch and then get out there again. Thanks.

Cool... and looking again, I think now that your's is correctly oriented but the end links are way too short. If they were longer, the bar would pivot about the rear end and push the 'U' of the bar up so it curves around the cover

I am sure that Tillery is on the right track. I know I put the endlinks in wrong. Will be out there in about 10 minutes to correct. You guys are awesome!

My fault. I installed the endlinks incorrectly. It wasn't upside down, but once I repositioned the endlinks, the bar rotated to where it needs to be. Went for a spirited drive and it was amazing! One of THE best mods I have done. So happy to have her back. She was on rails. High speed lane change felt safe. Even getting into the car and pulling out of the driveway, it just felt more stiff in a good way.

I still think I will end up getting the torque arm re-location kit from UMI and then my suspension should be done for my taste. The car handles awesome though, would recommend Strano bars to everyone.

Finalized pics below. Yes I am lowered, I have Strano springs, so 1.25 drop. Now I just need to figure out what exhaust setup to get to gain some ground clearance back. I know, wrong section of the forum, but any suggestions? Currently have BBK shorties, custom 2.5 in Y pipe and TSP Rumbler exhaust. When I look at photos from others, I see their exhaust so tight it makes me jealous. Thanks guys for all your help!

That's still does not look right (hangs too low)...

do you have pics showing the swaybar ends attaching to the endlinks...?

That has to be upside down, I wouldn't think it would hang down like that, something still doesn't look right.

Anyone else? I will take some pics, but I thought the swaybar spacers are what caused it to hang like that. I thought the bend in the middle would be upwards if it were upside down. Also, I used the endlinks that came with Sam's bars. The endlinks from UMI were a little longer. I guess using them could rotate the bar up even more. Maybe Sam could chime in on his recommendation. Maybe because I have a Moser rear end and had to use the UMI U-bolts/spacers, I should use the UMI endlinks. Thoughts?

After looking at the pics I'm almost positive you have it installed upside down.

Take out the spacers and use stock height bushing mounting hardware. The bar will then fit normally. The bar is not upside down.

If the bar were flipped 180*, then it would not only have the differential pumpkin clearance curve pointed the wrong way, it would also touch the differential.

Not sure why this is tough to comprehend. There are 3" spacers installed on the axle tubes, and the bar now sits 3" too low now that the endlinks have been installed correctly. Remove the spacers, and the problem is resolved.

The swaybar is not updside down.

Those endlink spacer sleeves are too short (in the pics in post #17 above).

+1 on removing the mount spacers, do this first.
