Default losing brake fluid after master cyl replacement?

i had my MC replaced last summer because a shop doing the AC said it was leaking. since then i've probably put ~ 2500 miles on the car and twice the pedal has gotten a bit spongy and required adding fluid. i don't see it coming out anywhere under the car. could the shop have not bled the brakes properly or something? i've never seen the brake or ABS inop light come on due to this, but i can tell something isn't right in the pedal since its spongier and goes further down before i top off the fluid.

any ideas?

just got my car back from the shop.
similar problem, leaking brake fluid and couldn't find it.
they finally found a small crack in the hard brake line on the axle, just before the backing plate.

hmm. well they said my master cylinder was leaking and replaced it last summer but that seems to have created this problem which i don't remember having before.

i doubt its brake line issues as my car is rust free underneath. i had a 99 malibu that blew a brake line due to rust a few years ago and was puking brake fluid all over the place. this seems like a small leak that doesn't leak enough to cause the low fluid light to come on, just changes the pedal feel.

I would pull the master cylinder off and check to make sure its not leaking into your brake booster..If you dont have any visible leaks the fluid is going somewhere..
