Koni SA shock with ground-control coilover
Thinking of buying this setup thats for sale.

Anyone running a similar setup, or have any experience with a coilover setup like this? I like the idea of a coilover because of the adjustable ride height, but don't want to sacrifice ride, or weight transfer by going to the coilover. My car is a street car that will probably never see a drag strip, but it does make around 800hp and I tend to use it on the street. Most drag coilover setups use front springs with around a 300# spring rate. I've heard they don't have a very good ride quality, so that's why I was thinking something like this may be better. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

That is the same as I use. I have had it for 6 years now and really like it.
You will however want to have the rear Konis and adjustable perches so you can set the cars height. If you want to get carried away you could have it scaled as well.
The rears look like this.

Looked the website up but they only offer them with Eibachs (blarg). Is it possible to get the setup as RAMPENT has it, with Stranos? Some kind of kit where you just buy the coilover bits?

I emailed them to see if you can buy the rear perches separate. Can't tell from their website what actually comes with the kit they have. If it's just the front coilover system, or the front and rear.

You can't get them with the Strano sping. The Eibach spring that they come with isn't the spring you're thinking of, it's the 2.5 spring. This size spring is available from a number of sources, not just eibach and its not a vehicle specific spring. You specify the length, and the rate.

There is some confusion, and at least some is due to the fact his rear springs are white.
First, my springs will not work with the GC setup. The fronts won't work at all, the rear could but it would sit WAY too high. I think his springs are white because he had them coated white, right Rampant?
I used to sell the Ground Control stuff. Note I said *used to*. A number of issues made it so I felt it was better for me to stop. 1. Once I settled on a rate and height I liked, I made my springs to mimic that. 2. They are a pain to install on the front shocks. 3. The modifications to the front shocks technically voids the warranty of the shocks. 4. They cost more when we have #1 to rely on anyway. 5. Ground Control is a pain in the *** to deal with and I spent WAY too much time fighting with them or passing along "next week" messages to customers.
Now, if you are hell-bent on having height adjustment or the ability to play with rates and aren't considering something like the KW Variant 3 kit and dampers (lifetime warranty on all of it), then this does indeed work.

Yes I painted the springs when I was doing some clean up on some rear parts. ,
I was just saying if he was buying fronts, he should try to get the perches.
As Sam said, the fronts were an major PITA to assemble the tops. I made a special tool, , blah blah.
As for the KWs Sam mentioned, I have been considering these myself.
