Default Solid Motor Mounts Install

Hi all, I need a little advice. I'm about to install some TSP headers and want to do motor mounts at the same time. I'm looking at doing solid mounts by Spohn. I know this will raise the engine a little bit. Will this cause any clearance issues with the TSP headers? also, Is there anything else i need to replace when installing the Spohns? I'm probably gonna replace the trans mount at the same time. I've tried searching, but all i find are arguments for solid vs. poly. Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi Allan.

As another alternative, our engine mounts are designed to retain the powerplant in the exact factory location.

You could go with the UMI mounts, although I haven't done much research on them so I can't tell you too much.

Depends what size primaries you are running. 1 3/4" or 1 7/8"?

A member just recently made a thread where he installed solid mounts with 1 7/8" TSP headers. He had to do some minor trimming, but there wasn't too much of an issue.

Yes, change out your trans mount at the same time. Get a poly mount, I reccomend the prothane.

I might consider the UMI mounts. I'm not gonna start until mid June. I'm going to be using the 1 7/8" primaries. Any recommendation as to where i can get a trans mount? I haven't been able to find one by itself yet.
Thanks,
Allan

I bought those and and was going to put them in w/my TSP headers, decided not to and went w/prothane polys, research this forum for several hours of reading and make your own decision, IMHO.

First tip, the engine will sit higher in your car...w/spohns.

If you're going with a trans mount, we offer some nice relocation to get the torque arm off the tailshaft.

No clearance issues with the MWC mounts, will not raise the engine or have alignment issues during install. Our mounts weigh only ounces and are priced very affordable at 95.00. Check out the website or feel free to give us as cal for more info.

I Spohn solids and love them. They only raised the engine a hair, if anything at all. I wouldn't hesitate to get them.
