Exclamation URGENT! Rear Brake Removal

I'm trying to remove the rear rotors on my '98 SS and they are not wanting to budge an inch. Is there anything holding the rotor on besides the wheel and caliper?

Need help quick!

Mine didn't either. Hit them with a mallet. They are likely rusted on.

Do you have the e-brake off? My stock rotors a couple years back rusted themselves to the brake backing plates and it took awhile with a mallet but they came off after some beating and cussing.

Get some PB Blaster or rust removal type spray and spray it between the back of the rotor and brake backing plate and let it sit awhile. Then beat the **** out of them with a mallet.

Beat the living **** out of the rotors with a small 5lb sledge. They WILL come off. They are rusted to your ebrake shoes. Do not pry the rotors, because you can/will break your ebrake shoes.

You didn't try hard enough. You have to hit them good and well, all over.
