Default How to connect steering linkage?

I just dropped the k member out of my car to do an engine swap. Now I got it started and most of the stuff is hooked up. The steering linkage dosent have enough room to slide it over the shaft coming out of the fire wall, has anyone figured out how to get it on without lowering the k member?

you can do 2 things... loosen the steering colum (3 bolts) so you can angle it different and make it easier, or pull the drivers side bolt out of the steering rack and pull that forward, the second one is easier. i dont remember if that bolt requires the engine being jacked up or not, cause i re-installed my bolts up-side down cause of this.

I got it, I dropped the k member enough to slide it on, worked like a charm
