Default Orange shocks

As the title says guys. I was under my 93 Trans Am and noticed that the tubes on my shocks, on all four corners are orange...are they stock or replacement, or performance? Thanks.

Orange sounds like DeCarbons. They are probably stock since I don't know why anyone would replace DeCarbons with DeCarbons...I'd replace them. That's an old pair of shocks lol.

I will, they still work fine after 20 years and 187k. I run the eibach 2" drop kit, are there any shocks that are a little shorter so i have more travel and they dont bottom out? Especially in the front... I just need an inch or two. Thanks

DeCarbons with Eibach's? WOW, your in for a great ride when you change those out. Call Sam Strano. He can help you out. Bilstein's, Koni's just to name a couple.

True, those are great names in the shock world. But does anyone know if any of these shocks are any more compact or shorter than the stock ones, so they dont bottom out.

There are shocks out there valved for different applications, like lowered vehicles. Lowering springs will kill a stock valved/size shock like the DeCarbons. My Koni's are a perfect fit with the Strano springs. No bottoming out. Do you have stock springs? If you have stock springs and don't want to lowering the car there are excellent replacements that will solve your problem. What are the plans for the car?

My car bottomed out on the stock shocks with the stock springs with 66k miles. I put Bilsteins (Thanks Sam!) on and no more bottoming out. Car rides nice. It is firm but not jarring.

Just FYI, my wife has a bad back, so if the car rides rough, she complains. Not one complaint on the 94 mile trip we took Saturday night and some of the roads aren't exactly smooth.
