Default My car is finally rod-end free.

I finally got fed up with all the rattles/vibrations my car had.

First I ditched rod ended lca's for stockers with 1le bushings about a year ago. This made a decent improvement but I still had a vibration on the highway. So I finally replaced my poly mount with an LS1 mount. This cured 90% of the vibration on the highway but my panhard bar was still rattling around. Finally replaced the rod ends with poly bushings and all the vibrations/rattles are gone even though the rod ends still feel tight. My car went from a rattling vibrating POS to a nice and smooth car.

Rods really don't belong on a DD street car IMO, simply for the reasons you stated. Harsh and noisy.

I ditched my rod ends after a year, they're not worth it to me on a 365 day a year driver

Rod ends suck on a street car....not even any performance to be gained by the them on the street.

Some people just like their cars dead silent.

I DD my heads/cam/stall/3.73 WS.6 with a poly/rod suspension, and a tunnel mounted torque arm. I also have poly engine/trans mounts and NO A/C.. By DD, i mean drive it every chance I get.. Its my ONLY car.

If I could find someone who wants to trade, Id run rod/rod suspension. It doesnt bother me a bit.

Question

You mean you went from poly to OEM rubber motor mounts, or you mean trans-mount?

The only location that I found rod-ends to become an issue is on the LCRs, PHB never a noise issue, and I've been running rod-ends in my front lower A-arms for years without any noise issues, this is in my DD.

Quick Reply: My car is finally rod-end free.
