Question How much did you pay to have SFC's welded in?

I just got a quote from a place here in Jackson of $270-$300. Seems a little high to me. If anybody knows of a good place anywhere near southern Michigan to get this done let me know. TIA.

3-3.5 hours to weld SFCs in? damn gimme some of what they're smoking!

What kinda SFCs did you go with? if you went w/the goofy double diamond ones I could see it taking a lil longer but not 3.5 hours!

I forget what I paid but it only took about 30 mins to do them (BMR tubular)

I had a local exhaust shop do it for $20, the hourly rate for welding work. I did all the prep work of grinding the powder coat off of the SFC mounting points and grinding the frame weld points before I got there. I also installed the SFC with the back LCA bolts and wire tied the fronts up till I got to the shop driving very carefully. It took him about 30min after I showed him some pictures of how they where to be welded in place. I also told him about the possibility of the carpet catching fire and he used a super soaker water gun after every minute or so of welding to keep the heat down on the welds.

One thing to remember with Weld in SFCs....the SFCs are only as good as the welder.

Just make sure the welder is experienced and knows what he is doing. You get bad welds and the SFCs are useless.

Find a price from $50-80 and that seems fair

I paid around 200,
the work was done by a certified car welder,
they prepted, and re-painted weld areas when done,
took around an hour

I paid $80 for my Pro-Fab Tubular SFC's to be welded in. Took right around an hour. Anything above $100 and I would be asking a LOT of questions. Other then the one place where the guy did a lot of post-welding work, the rest of the quotes for $250+ sound like scams/ripoffs. Look elsewhere is my advice.

I just got quoted for 2-4 hours of work = $175-300. Any suggestions on what I should do to reduce the amount of time it will take? I've got the KBDD's.
