Default Difference between stock 32mm and aftermarket 32mm front sway bar?

I have a 2000 ss camaro and looking at a craigslist solid spohn 32mm front sway bar. Did a little search on here, looks like i have a 32mm stock sway bar so my question is should i buy the spohn? Why go aftermarket if its the same size?

Probably for non Ws6/ss cars that came with.30 mm or smaller stock bars. Unless its hollow which is supposed to be lighter.

Yes, no point in buying the same diameter bar of a different kind. Bars are pretty much bars.

Actually you are right. I take that back. Arm length, aka where the endlinks are mounted can have an effect on bar stiffness. But if both bars are around the same length and are both hollow or both stiff, they are pretty darn close.

How much lighter would a hollow bar be? 10? 20 lbs?

The difference between a hollow and a solid bar isn't as much as you'd think. It also matters what kind of wall thickness the hollow bar has.

I think you are wasting your money to move from a GM 32 to a solid 32, personally. Which is why I developed a hollow 35. There are solid ones too, I used to make them until I went hollow because the weight is significantly less (about 13-15 pounds less) than a solid bar.

I don't have any unboxed at the moment, and the rear bar comes with extra mounting hardware.

Boxed up (big boxes, 56x21x3" and with all the hardware needed, links, bushings, mounts, nuts and bolts, washers) the front bar is 23 and the rear is 20. Remember that's with everything including the boxes... The bars alone are much less. Front is about 17, rear is about 5 (there is more hardware with the rear to mount is and make it adjustable).
