Default Strut tower brace problem....Opinions

I have a 99 SS and just installed my STB, problem is i still have air conditioning set up in the car and there was a round clamp that goes around one of the hoses and bolted down w/ the inner bolt on the passenger side of the strut tower brace. Now that i have to STB in place its time to put that clamp back on but the problem is i dont have any threads left to screw it back on. Is this an important clamp? can i just leave it off all together or should i take off the washer that goes under the strut tower brace so that it opens up more threads on the bolt for the clamp? Thanks

I tossed the clamp. then later when I replaced some of the A/C components including the dryer the A/C tech said that it wasn't necessary to have the clamp in place....at least not in my car.
