Here is the data streight off of GM's Chassis Tunning Chart for the 1998 models (Don't ask how I got it)

FE2 Solid Roof and T-Top (Z28):
Ft: 51 N/mm (291 lbf/in) Streight Rate
RR: 19.9 N/mm (113 lbf/in) Streight Rate

FE2 Conv (Z28 Vert), FE4 Conv (SS Vert), B4C Police Package, FE4 Coup, (SS), FE7 Showroom Stock Pkg (1 LE)
Ft: 63 N/mm (342 lbf/in) Streight Rate
RR: 20-30 N/mm (114-171 lbf/in) progressive rate

The ride height is the same for all cars.

Eibach Springs, Pro Kit:
FT: 377-600 lbf/in progressive rate
RR: 94-160 lbf/in progressive rate

The Pro kit will lower the car about 1.5 inches

Check out this link:

http://www.1le.net/docs/1le_specific_parts.html

(2) Front springs (LS1, 360 lbs/in): 22132887
(2) Rear springs (LS1, 130-170 lbs/in): 22132889

He has different spring rates, but I got my a very reliable source inside of GM who lets just say, had very close ties to the F-Bodies.

If you're referring to the 1le suspension components that SLP put on some Firehawks and SS's...they will drop the height about 3/4". I don't know how they compare to a Z28 stock setup...but they are much stiffer than a stock WS6 setup.

You wouldn't think 3/4" would make much of a difference...but it does...more speed bumps get scraped...opening the car door when it's on a trailor isn't always possible.

Would the installation of 1LE springs, on a stock Z28, require 1LE upper and lower control arms? Is the geometry of the 1LE control arms different than the Z28 control arms, or is it simply a matter of different bushings?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The difference is just a matter of bushings. The geometry is idential.

GM no longer stocks 1LE springs. SLP may still have them. I have been told that if you order the 1LE part number, they send a "replacement" part which is the base Z28 spring.
