Anyone know if 93-97 brake hoses are the same as 98-up?

Default Anyone know if 93-97 brake hoses are the same as 98-up?

I guess I inadvertantly tossed out one of the stock rubber front brake hoses that go from the caliper to the hard line. I can get one off of a junkyard donor car if they'll interchange. It doesn't have to be exact, as I bending all new brake lines from scratch. It just needs to bolt to the newer style LS1 caliper.

Anyone have an idea?

I don't beleive so. the LS1 line would be longer than a LT1 line.

Hmmm... If that's the only difference, they may still work, since I'm bending/flaring the hard tubing all from scratch, so I might be able to adapt it.

Thinking aloud here, I guess it would just be easiest to order a new brake line from the dealership. It shouldn't cost very much at all. I would still need the metric size fitting to thread into the rubber line, and a small piece of the original brake line, since it uses a bubble flare, and I can't make those...

Thanks!

Since you are going thru all that trouble of redoing the break lines, why settle for rubber lines at the end. Get a nice set of braided lines. It really helps with the feel of the breaks because the braided lines reduce the amount of compliance in the system. (They don't expand under pressure).

I thought about that, but haven't seen just the front lines available by themselves... I have Wilwood brakes on the rear, with steel braided line already, so buying a kit of front and rear lines would be a waste of money, which is something I can't afford to do right now.

Do you know off hand if the front are available alone?

RK Sport used to carry just the fronts. Also, try Summit. They carry alot of stuff that they don't even list.
