Default replacement factory style front lower control arms?

is there a place they are available from?

working on a v6 car that need pretty much every front end component, and dont feel like playing the press in the bushing game.

Have you tried a dealer, or any of the Internet GM parts sellers?

if all it needs is bushings, when why not take it to a body shop, and have them press in the new bushings. the stock GM pieces are probably stronger then any stock style replacement. it should be pretty cheap to just get the old ones pressed out and new ones pressed in.

because on some cars the complete cheapy loaded control arms are cheaper than buying bushings, balljoints, and paying someone to press the old ones out/new ones in.

Do you really want to "cheap out" on the parts that keep the front end of the car off the ground, and also allow you to keep the car under control???

yes. yes i do.

we do it all the time for work. dorman(aftermarket parts company) makes loaded control arms for 90% of the daily drivers we see and work on. sure we could buy from a dealer and pay double.. or we can buy a repop part for less and actually get a warrenty on the part.

Tony, I parted out a 2000 z28 and have the complete K-member, steering rack and front suspension intact. I want the brakes off of it, but will sell the rest. I'm not looking to make a mint off of it. But, this way, you'd also get the V8 rack and have the option of driving around a bit while doing whatever mods on a spare piece.

The car I pulled this from was abandoned, not wrecked. If you're interested, PM me. I'm in NW indiana and frequently drive to Omaha. Batavia is along the way. My next trip is in two weeks.

I too recently had a shop press in new bushings and ball joints on my lower arms. New arms from GM are about $220 per side (not sure if this is just the arm or not). I got my ball joints (acdelco) and bushings (moog) at rockauto.com. The arms are not damaged so I reused them.
