Default Can a 4wd z71 be lowered? Odd question I know

Looking at making a project out of a z71 4wd short cab, not the new style but like a 03-07 era truck. Can the suspension be lowered?

Any thoughts or ideas?

i would say the rear suspension can be lowered like a 2wd truck can; blocks, flip kit, bags etc depending on how low you want it, but not sure how the front would work if it has torsion bars, maybe do the opposite of what i did on my 96 to level and clear 285s and un-crank? lol personally i like the lowered 2wds but not 4wds but to each his own i guess. good luck and keep us posted

I have a 2001 Yukon dropped 3-4 on 305/40/22s. I need to get some new bumpstops for the front to bring it down a touch more, but I love it. I use it to pull my boat almost every weekend too, granted I have an 18' flat bottom

Here's a pic right after I plasti dipped the wheels. The grille is dipped now and the headlights and park lights are tinted. I need to dip the bumpers and I'll be done for a while.

I like the look of a lowered truck. Makes it handle better too.

check out performancetrucks.net. There is a stickied thread there with information about lowering 4wd trucks. Very easy to do and actually almost easier than lowering a 2wd.
