Moog Upper Ball Joints What is the sleeve used for with these balljoints? I installed mine without this:

I put the boot on the ball joint, the spindle to the ball joint, greased it and called it a day. Seems like the spindle keeps the boot on it fine.

So that part is more or less a clamp for the boot at the base of the ball stud... since it doesn't have a retainer ring or clamp. I'm thinking it will be fine.
