Default Spohn Tunnel Mount Torque Arm question.

So i've posted about this but at my wits end with this torque arm. I'm not sure if I have the angle the right way or not, but I have a vibration that starts at 60 and just continues as I speed up. I have 2 angle finders, one on the driveshaft and one on the torque arm plate that mounts to my 9". Now the vibration didn't start until I put the torque arm in. Driveshaft is new also. So on the angle finder on the drive shaft it is on zero. On the torque arm it is at 2*, to the right of 0. This is looking from the drivers side. Is that +2 or -2. Whats the best angle for just cruising. I know for track it should be around -2. Any help is greatly appreciated.

When your angle finder is on the torque arm plate and tilts down to the left and the gauge reads 2 degrees to the right of zero, your pinion angle is -2. It also wouldn't hurt to measure the angle on the transmission tailshaft to see where that's at.
I have the same torque arm and had the same problem. For what it's worth, I have mine set identical to yours. But, I found out that my vibration was caused by a wheel that was out of balance 4.25ozs. I know it sounds trivial, but check your wheel balance first (road force preferred), then your ujoints. You mentioned that you have a new driveshaft...make sure that the splines are engaged properly.
The Spohn TA is a noisy bugger and will transmit noise from the rear. You should be able to chase the vibration down though.

What am I looking for in the u joints and how do I check the splines. Im going to take the wheels back to discount tire and have them rebalanced. I forgot I did add those so maybe that is the issue but how would I check the other 2 things. I dont mind if the torque arm is noisy. Just dont want to feel like im sitting in a massage chair on the expressway

Torque arm shouldn't cause that issue...either in the tires, or driveshaft/u-joints

Did you put the torque arm and driveshaft in at the same time???

No. I had the rear end and driveshaft in last fall. Drove it a little and then added the torque arm over the winter.

You may want to pull the driveshaft and check the u-joints out for any tight spots...you may have them running a bit different angle and that may be the issue...

Also, for proper pinion angle, my first question is what ends do you have (stock, poly, or rod end)? As that will let you know where you need to be at angle wise as each of these have a different rate of deflection.

Poly mounts at the chasis mount. Rod to the bracket that bolts to the rear. I'm wondering if when my drive shaft was made, if they made it too long. It is a tight fit

So feel retarded. Raised the rear up, put it in gear and got it up to speed, felt the vibration. Looked underneath and drive shaft wasn't spinning straight. Tightened up the U bolt that holds it to the yoke, and bam! No more vibration. Thanks for your help guys.

You'll want to see if that is a bad u-joint and replace it or it'll come loose again.

Also, you with a poly/rod combo you should be looking for -3 to -4 for pinion angle.

The u-joint felt tight and good. I ended up taking it out more last night after I replaced the ubolt, and no vibration up to 140ish.... but I will definitely keep an eye on it.

Sorry I was away after I posted that initial response. Glad to see it was simple. I can't speak for the -3 or -4 post. My -2 is working okay and quiet on the street.
