Default 2014 stingray brakes

So I have been on the fence between an ls1 brake swap on my 96 z28 and the ctsv/2010 camaro brake swap. The later is a problem because of my dedicated race wheels (17 x 11 all around).

So being a corvette fan I have been doing research on the new c7 and it looks like the base c7 brakes will be small enough to fit under 17inch wheels.

Being 4 pistion brembo calipers I am sure that they are much better than current c6 calipers, plus they get some cool looking/almost two piece fancy rotors. The non-z51 brake package has a 12.6inch front rotor and 4pot brembo caliper I believe.

When I read that I thought: "perfect". I am surprised no one has been speculating this yet so I will be the first to make a thread.

I don't have the details but I assume that these breakes are no different from any other c5/c6 in the sense that they should bolt right up with umi or bishop brackets.

Anyway. Just thought I would throw it out there for discussion.

BTW the z51 brakes get fancy looking 13.6 rotors with j-hooks in them and some kind of dual alloy technology to help keep temps down along with 4pot brembo calipers. Very cool if you ask me. I suspect this will be very affordable just like c6 brakes are.

If the C7 brakes mount in the stock locations on the Fbody you will see them swapped on in no time.

Cost and availability are goings to be the two biggest issues.

There are lots of affordable brake packages that are readily available right now.

Is the C7 staying with a 5x4.75 bolt configuration, or going to the more universal 5x120? Spaking of which, how are guys getting 5th gen brakes onto the hubs properly? Am I missing something or are they just making it work like they do with wheels?
