lowering springs

lowering springs
I would like to lower my car for handling and to remove the huge gap between the 16" tires and fenders, I'm thinking 1.5" would be a good drop to make it look good..
here in lies my problem, I'm a 55yr old disabled vet and I live on a small SSDI check and as such I've been looking at the springs on ebay because they are about all I can afford.
I can't afford $600 for springs and another $250 for struts and shocks.
are they safe to use and has anyone used them?
I'm looking at a set from a company called KSport..
here's my car..
I would really appreciate any input..

Your prices are a bit skewed... $250 for springs, and around $400 for SLP Bilstein shocks. Shocks are more important than springs, and in my opinion I'd rather do it once and do it right, versus lowering the car and then having to redo everything to put shocks in.
Here is what I would get as in best bang for your buck...
Strano has the best deal out there for the SLP Bilstein's... http://stranoparts.com/partdetails.p...D=20&ModelID=7.
For the springs I would go with BMR... http://bmrsuspension.com/?page=products&productid=291.
