Default Rack and Pinion

Well my rack and pinion needs to be replaced. Car is a 2000 WS6. What do you guys think is a fair price to replace it including parts, labor and alignment?

You can get a rack for ~$75-150 at a yard used or new. Alighments going to run probably ~$50-75 and labors going to depend on the shops labor rate but I wouldn't expect to pay anymore than $100 in labor, its really not that hard to do yourself if you've got some tools and an hour or two to tinker. I may be way off, but that's just off the top of my head. I'd swap it out myself if it were me.

Thank you for the input. At this time I do not have the tools or the time so I'm stuck with going to a shop. I wish I had the means to do it myself.

shop could say $3-400 for parts alone plus $200+ for alignment/labor, they'll probably recommend outer tie rod ends at the same time too

you can send it off to turn one, and they will re-build it for you for under $200. here is the article done by GMHTP:

This rack went on STI Killer, a track prepped LS6 powered Camaro.
