Default Are my shocks in need of changing

Not sure how to do anaccurate test. I cant push down on the car anywhere to get them to compress. I do feel slight body roll at times. I have upgraded Eibach sway bars. 60,000 miles on them. Lots of bumps and shallow porholes. The top of the shocks look as if the nitrogen has been leaking out. The dirt sticks to the top. Parts in sig.
Thanks

Assuming the "Bielsteen" you have in your signature means that you installed Bilstein shocks in your car, and they indeed have 60,000 miles on them, yes, I'd consider changing them out. While they are good shocks, that's quite a bit of mileage, and they're not performing as good as when they were new.

And yes, "Zlow28", the OE DeCarbon shocks were pretty crappy.....

I like my Bilstein HD shocks.

The new Koni STR.T look to be pretty good from what I'm seeing.

Or there is always the Koni Sport.

114k miles is good enough of a sign. You may not realize you needed them until you get some new ones and feel the improvement in ride quality.

There are lots of other things that factor into the ride quality like bushings, bearings, springs, bump stops, isolators, tires, wheels, etc.

I'll be honest, I only saw the subject line and immediately thought "I'm sure".

First, the nitrogen might have leaked out, but likely not. And the gas is not what does the damping anyway. But the point is the dirt isn't from leaking gas, it's from a little oil and a little oil gets a lot of dirt stuck to it and generally looks worse than it. If it's not wet it's not really leaking. Second, even though that's the case, that's not what makes a shock bad anymore than saying if you have an engine without a hole in the block pouring oil it, that it's fine. Things inside wear out.

Bottom line is this: If you want the car to flop around less, roll and pitch slower (which many mistake for less which isn't a bad thing), be more secure and planted, and feel more "in the road" vs. a boat planing across the road... you want better shocks. The better the shock, the better the car will feel.

We can put new Bilstein's like you have on it for $379.99, we can do Koni SRT.T's for $385, or you can run up to something really badass like Koni Sports starting around $899/set. They cost more but damn they are worth it.
