Default Adjustable torque arm w/ relocation bracket

Have a m6 car I just put a bmr adjustable torque arm with the relocation crossmember. I got it set at close to where it was on the transmission and pinion angle set at -3. I haven't tried launching hard from a dig but from a low roll like 10-15 mph it blows the tires away even when I short shift into second and get back in it and it still doesn't have traction. Where do you m6 guys have your torque arm set at on the crossmember?

Did you do a short torque arm with cross member, or a standard length with relocation crossmember?

Either way, 45 degrees isn't warm enough for most tires to actually hook, not to mention that with the torque arm, you're hitting the tires a little harder, regardless of the instant center and weight transfer.

Nittos aren't usually good until they're warmed up. It's a summer tire the working range is diff

this isn't exactly traction season as mentioned above, and Nitto's like to be hot. Do you have lower control arms or relocation brackets? If not I would recommend it. Especially relocation brackets. The adjustable torque arm basically reduces flex, but doesn't change any suspension geometry. The relo brackets however change the angle of the lower control arms and help plant the tires under load

Not trying to jack the thread, but is everyone using -3 pinion angle, he stated earlier that he is, as am I, just wondering though...

Nitto 555R will not hook in those temps!!

Did you have the suspension un-loaded when you removed the torque arm from the rear end? Reason I ask is I have the same one ready to go in, I just don't remember it being easier if you have the car floating or on a drive on lift like I have access to. Any help would be great.

We had it under load. What does moving the front of the torque arm do?

Raising the nose of the torque arm moves the instant center and theoretically adds forward traction during launch. Of course this is a trend and not an absolute. All cars respond differently and tuning by racing is the best way to evaluate.

This.....adjusting it is meant to reduce power loss threw the drivetrain and/or vibration. It's a go to for most for traction for some reason. Probably goes back to the leaf spring days.
