Lowered F body's ?
How do you guys deal with speed bumps and other obstacles ? My car is stock hight and I been thinking about lowering it 2 in . But last night I was at my kids school and I when I went over the speed bumps I could hear and feel my subframe connectors drag

sounds like you are going a little to fast over these bumps, just slow it down and should not be a problem, on the other note, i had to redo my exhaust 3 times to get the extra clearance after i lowered my car. BUT...i am way happier now that my exhaust tucks up under the car so tight now, i actually have more clearance in some spots now then i did before redoing the exhaust and not being lowered.

I would never do a 2 inch drop. This is coming from someone with the stock ride height, but lowering it will sacrifice comfort for looks.

I wouldn't recommend it. I have two giant *** dents in my LT headers thanks to big dip in the road. It looks good, but it's annoying to have your buttcheeks tighten up every time you go near a large bump.

I agree with the above 2" is far too low unless you have glass like streets.. i have the Pro Kit on my TA and it is about as low as anyone sgould ever want to go. The wheel well gaps are minimal the stance i feel is great! Part of me wants to raise it up just a little bit but "THAT" side of me says leave it alone.....lol

It's annoying. My ARH headers and Y pipe tuck up as close to the body as you can get it, but I still scrape it. I actually had to have the driver's side cat changed because of the big dent I put in it. It also pisses my off knowing I scraping dnd denting a $1500 set of headers....

Launching!
Got to go overe them at an angle like previous guys have already mentioned. And you have to make sure you get the exhaust tucked in as much as possible. If ya somewhat clueless about how to drive a lower car maybe you shouldn't do it. It will only cost you more money in the long run.

I don't go over speed bumps. most parking lots have a route you can take to avoid them, or i just avoid that lot. lol.
And i agree that most people wouldn't really want to go lower than a pro kit. I have almost no fender gap, why go past that point? it just makes everything more stressful. lol

Yes occasionally you have to angle, or go as slow as possible. If u plan on longtubes, that's even more headache, with 3" exhaust its fun fun. And you will need panhard to center the rear, better shocks, good bump stops, and I'd eventually look at an adjustable torque arm ( not necessary at first but the best mod to my car other than shocks). O and an alignment.

A lowered F-body with long tubes simply doesn't go well with speed bumps. There's ways to deal with the little bumps, however there's no good solution for dealing with the big ones. I have two of the table top "speed humps" in my complex that I still scape on after adding spacers to my lowered setup (to get an extra half inch of clearance).
I hate it. It bothers me that there isn't a way to get the nice lowered look that I prefer coupled with the ground clearance to make it up/down a modest grade.
