Default 98 z28 e brake help

I've read that the camaros have auto adjusting e brakes but not sure on 98s.

If I pull my e brake all the way up there isn't really any resistance and it doesn't hold the car in place. I dont hear any grinding so I don't think its the pads. Is there some way to adjust the cable? Any advice?

It is a drum brake. The drum is bored out of the center of the rear rotor.

The e brakes are not auto adjusting and need to be manually adjusted each time the rotors are changed. Sounds like that didn't happen on your car.

It's a little complex. Here's a thread that you'll want to read, including the links it contains, before putting on the new rotors.

With the age of the car and the likelihood that the e brakes have not been maintained in the past, you should also be prepared that the star wheels/adjusting mechanism are gummed up. If that's the case, it may be impossible to adjust them. So, as you do the brake job, you may plan for a few extra hours to disassemble the mechanism and re-lube everything. (Depending on the type of axles you have, this may be very challenging to do.)
