Default So will WS6 wheels fit with CTSV calipers or not...

Don't just say no because you read they won't from the 18" + only crowd.

I have seen people fitting 17s with the CTSV calipers with slight grinding on the caliper tops. Most of the time wheel spacers are needed for spoke clearance.
--------------

Question 1: Is the inner diameter of a WS6 wheel large enough to fit over a CTSV caliper that has been slightly ground.

Question 2: How thick of a wheel spacer needs to be run to get adequate wheel spoke to caliper clearance? Hopefully not much more than 3/8", because that is the most I would be willing to space out a front WS6 wheel for aesthetic reasons...
--------------

There has to be somebody on here that has tried to fit a WS6 wheel over a CTSV caliper setup....... I searched my *** off tho, and I can't find more than "Some 17s fit".

if there is nothing in the 15 pages of this thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...s-17-rims.html then it appears that trial and error is the only way to find the answer to your question

No one tried in that thread.

Figured I would make a thread of my own to try to locate someone who has tried, before I spend the doh on the parts to try for myself.

I really cannot believe that no one has tried this!

I have a nagging suspicion that they will fit fine as far as ID of the wheel/ OD of the caliper goes (with the usual caliper grinding required for 17s).

What I am worried about most is the spoke clearance... I have another nagging suspicion that a spacer would most likely be required, the question is, will the required spacer thickness make the wheels to mexi-flush....?

If a 3/8" spacer or less would do the trick, I think that would be at the upper limit of spacer thickness that would ok aesthetically.

The last thread I read said that 17" wheels will have to be
cut-to-fit as well as some fabricating of the CTSV calipers.
18's seem to fit with no issue. Risky business brotha, but would
be badazz.

The only time I have ever read of the wheel having to be modified, in regards to 17" wheels, was when I saw a guy mention he sanded off some casting imperfections on the ID of his wheel.

I think were all SOL. Apparently no one with oem 17" wheels has any urge to run CTSV calipers besides a select few. I guess were just gonna have to bite the bullet and buy the parts and try for ourselves. I just can't believe nobodyyyyy that switched to ctsv calipers didn't check oem 17" wheel fitment out of curiosity.

So those of us who have done the CTSV brakes should have to track down OEM 17's to satisfy your curiosity?

Just man up and try it. It's what those of us who don't need to be spoon fed have been doing. Get a grinder, get a 40 grit flap disk and go to town. It's not that hard.

Lol ok pal.

Sorry I have a busy schedule and don't have time to dick around and do things multiple times.

Im not expecting anybody to track down OEM 17s to "satisfy my curiosity", nor am I spoon fed.

Im just exhausting my less time consuming options of trying to locate someone who has tried this. Its not like theres not tons of people with OEM 17s.

Thanks for the reply!

Did you have to run a spacer? If so. do you remember how thick?
