Default Keep 1le springs or stranos

Gotta 2001 hawk with factory 1le springs. Just bought some koni str.t shocks and was wondering if I should upgrade to strano springs or keep the 1le springs? Anybody care to shed some experience with either combo? Thankw

Question 1: Do you want to lower the car? That's a big one.

Question 2: What is it you want from the car?

Depends on how much lower the car will be compared to the factory 1le springs. It has true duals with prob as much clearance as a lot of aftermarket y pipes.
Question 2: What is it you want from the car?
The car has heads and cam. I'm currently saving money for a 9" but my intentions are not for track only. I'd like to be king of the street, too something that will provide a very street able ride paired with my koni str.t shocks i just ordered. However, once I get that 9" probably wouldn't mind to hit the track every once in a while.

The question is what are those 1LE springs you have? There is 1LE springs and then there is the SLP package 1LE springs which I think might be different

Prob will never see a road course bc bc I don't really know of any in the area. Mainly drag strip, but I doubt it'll hardly see that either so mainly street and cornering.

If you want to keep the same ride height I would swap the rear 1LE springs for base Z28 springs. The 1LE rear springs are a little stiff and will limit launch traction.

I'd defer to Sam or others on lowering springs.

yeah, I don't think I could afford to lower the car too much. What is the typical drop with the strano springs? 1.25"? It has true duals, which are tucked semi decent, but I don't want to be scraping if it does get lowered. Then again, it's not a daily driver. They're not the aftermarket 1le springs, the car came factory with the 1le option. Granted that was 13 years ago, so I was wondering if it was time for an upgrade anyway.. Thanks for the input guys.

Actually now that I think about the 01-02 1LE's had the softer rear springs, so you should be good to go.

99fastws6 if you can confirm those 1le springs, I'll buy them off you.

I agree. I don't want really stiff rears myself, and in fact 1LE rears are stiffer than what I make. What folks seem to forget is that 1LE's in every year BUT 1993 had not only stiffer front springs but the 32mm front bar, but a 19mm rear bar with the "stiffer" springs. Most think all 1LE's had the 21mm rear bar and the stiff springs, and they never were like that. If you go the 1LE rear springs it was with a 19, if you had a 21 (1993 build 1LE's) you got the 21mm rear bar instead.

1LE front/Z28 rears would be my choice if I was going to stay on "stock" springs.
