Default Installing new Brake Lines and Painting Calipers Question

I am adding new stainless brake lines to the car and want to take the calipers off to clean them up and paint them. Will it be okay to remove the stock lines and leave it like that for a day or two? Do I need to plug the hard lines? I know the fluid in the rubber lines will leak out and the new stainless line will have air in it, but will everything else be fine? First time I've done the stainless lines myself and it's sort of a duh question.

I would put vacuum caps over the hardlines to be on the safe side... unless you are doing a complete system flush.

I'll do a bleed and plan to run 2 liters of brake fluid through to get all the old fluid out. I'll just watch to make sure I don't run the master dry.

Btw, I'm planning to do G2 paint, some acrylic Trans Am decals, and then some VHT Clear spray over the top. I think it'll look nice and should hold up pretty well.
