Default no break lights!

I got a 94 gmc sierra sle. Just rebuilt the tranz. Anyway the break lights dont come on. I replaced both back sockets & lights, and the break switch under the break petal. Everything works but the break lights. Checked the back plug with multi meter seems to be working. Out of ideas. Any one got anything to check or try.
Thanks for your help

May sound silly, but have you checked the fuse? Then I would move on to see if the brake switch on the pedals is getting power and then chase the power back to the sockets and then check for a ground.

Hope that helps

Break light? Never heard of one. Did you mean brake light? Or did you break your brake light?

my brothers old 79 TransAm had this issue and it ended up being the turn signal switch.

But, just to confirm, by "everything else" you are referring to both the parking lights and reverse lights correct?

did the problem start right after the transmission was rebuilt or did it exist before?

also, not to be a "grammar ****" but it's BRAKE not BREAK and PEDAL not PETAL.

Figured it out. The wires for my plug for 5th wheel hitch, were out and arching on my frame. Problem fixed thanks for the lessons in grammar.
