Default WS6store Brake Package

So I was looking for some deals on some new rotors and pads (my stockers are warped beyond belief, pretty sure they are the originals), when I found this package on WS6store.

http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=6356

With it being posted only a few months ago, I cant find any threads on it. I'm skeptical of the price for a complete kit, I can't really find much on Dora blanks or Talon pads either. This is noticeably cheaper than the Centric blanks and Hawk ceramic pads I was going to order from a different site.

I'm on a limited budget since I'm saving up for some headers/ORY and a tune. The car is my DD that sees some spirited driving when possible, I don't break the 100mph barrier too often, occasional highway races and stoplight races. Just looking for some quality stopping power for a basic bolt-on car. Any input would be appreciated.

Ceramic pads will disappoint you. For a DD, assuming that you primarily desire long pad life and relatively low dust, I'd suggest HPS pads ($180 F&R) and blanks of your choosing.

I've tried to find the Brembo blanks, but with no success really. I'm trying to keep the budget at $400 or below for all 4 rotors and pad sets.

Then you simply haven't used good ceramic pads. Carbotech makes some with incredible race proven performance, but they are pricey. As far as HPS pads, you guys should try the stoptech street pads. Little less dust and a little more stopping power than the hawks.

If you're on a budget, Brakemotive is really the best deal out there. All four rotors and pads for $160.

I picked up the Brakemotive rotors for $138 shipped and the Hawk HPS pads from WS6Store for 139 shipped. That's a good package for the money.

Hawks HPS pads here, and they are great for street applications. Not super pricey either. Going to get them when I do the c5 conversion soon.

What about Brakemotive's entire rotor/pad set from ebay for $170? I'm not a fan of them being drilled, slotted I can deal with tho.

Well that's what I did a couple months ago. I'm very pleased with their rotor's and pads with the slotted and drilled ones. No dust at all.

I think that's the best bet for me then. For the price, it doesn't matter much if the drilled holes start to crack after a few thousand miles, I only drive the car in the summer and put maybe 4000 miles.

Another happy brakemotive customer here as well. 4 drilled & slotted rotors + 8 ceramic pads for $160 shipped. Looks nice, practically dustless, great stopping power and no noise whatsoever going on 4000 miles and counting...

Precisely why I went that route, too.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on the dustless part. Mine would make a mess rather promptly. Granted, not horrible like a true performance pad, but certainly not dustless in my experience.

How much of a mess are we talking with these pads? Was it just for the first few hundred miles? Or does it still do it?

Well I do have black rims so dust doesn't really affect appearance, but I do have bright red calipers that I have to clean about once a month to keep them looking fresh.

I have the hawk rims which are chrome. And even when I had the oem brake pads on with the slotted and drilled rotors for 50,000 miles I never got any dust. Now its been about 5,000 miles with brakemotive's pads and their slotted and drilled rotors and still no dust or sound. I'm sure it's the way someone drives that will add to the dust but I'm daily driving mine to work everyday, trips to the beach, and weekend riding with the wife. The chrome wheels would show everything, and I have nothing. Maybe I did break my pads and rotors in just like they said to, right!

I was skeptical of brake motive but so far they have been pretty good. They had a lot of dust on the first couple hundred miles then it went down quite a bit. Definitely not dustless but not bad at all.

Any problems with brake fade with high speed stops?

Like was mentioned, it may have simply been the way I bed them in; however, a drilled/slotted rotor is going to dust more which is inherit of their design.

As for fade, they held up well when going through traps at 110+ or highway jaunts. A friend of mine said his were starting to fade after hot lapping 9+ runs.
