The rotors are 10+ Camaro rotors. The rotor no matter which brand you use will need to be machined a bit to fit. The center hole on the camaro rotor are a tad smaller diameter.

You can use the Z06 rotors without machining, but then the brake pad wont cover the whole rotor and will wear unevenly.

I will be getting the weld Rts setup for the track as well. Ill have to use the 18" fronts to clear.

Nice attention to detail. A little bit of paint and powder coat goes a long way. Very clean.

Thanks for posting! Great post & very nice job. I feel like I need to do this to accommodate the occasional track day. If you don't mind, post how much you have into the brakes.

I think for the complete brake upgrade I paid under 1k for everything without counting the bigger wheels and tires.

~520 Calipers
~14 Caliper Hardware
~80-120 Rotors
~120 Brake lines
~80 Brake Pads
+Honing Brake Rotors (~100)
+Misc bolts/brake fluid/decals/paint

Awesome job! Can I ask why you didn't go with the 14.6in rotors from the ZL1?

Do the pads hang over much? can you post a pick of the top of the caliper with everything assembled?

I know the 14in 2010 rotors fit perfectly under the 4-piston brembo's. So shouldn't the 6-piston brembo caliper go with the 14.6in rotors that come on the ZL1?

Am I missing something? does the ZL1 have a different spindle?

I think the 14.6 would be to much, this is mine without the pads. I'll post a thread when I start assembly

I looked at the pics again, and it looks like the piston is just outside the rotor, which means the pads will be over as well. I bet the 14.6in fits better.

I think there is a disadvantage to this setup vs the 14in 4-piston.

The 6-piston caliper actually has slightly less piston area=less force when using the same lever arm(14in rotor). Also you are using less pad..... Whereas the 14in 4-piston is using all of the rotor, all of the pad, and the caliper produces more force. I know its hard to believe looking at that massive 6-piston caliper, but the total piston area in the 4-pot is larger.

So in the end I think you'll have less brake force, and less fade resistance.

Somebody tell me if I'm missing something here.

I would think the 14.6" rotor would be too big and you may have to have a custom bracket for the calipers to clear over them. With a custom bracket the ZL1 and the CTS V rotors would fit fine. Could always buy one and try to see if they fit and let us know, but I don't think I could fit anything larger in my 18" Wheels.

SS Camaro Rotor fits Perfect with the 6 piston calipers, and with a larger rotor you would more than likely have to go 19" wheels. I have ZERO over hang on the rotors with the pads. Match up perfect.

I just mounted my brakes and used the 14.6inch ctsv rotors. They fit perfect

Ha, I knew it, that pad rotor fit is pure automotive ****!

Most places I find list that rotor as 14.55(370mm) or 14.6(same as the ZL1). A few list it as 15in, but I wonder if they're just rounding up?

Nice. Did you have to enlarge the hub bore on the rotor, or did it slip right on?

Thanks. Is that an OEM rotor? I can't exactly tell from the picture but it looks like it's not a 2-piece.
