Default Short tunnel mount torque arm or convert existing with bracket?

Setting up a car that was mildly modded for a new setup:

Nitrous M6 car, 800+rwhp
Will see 75% street, 25% track duty.
Not a daily driver. Not a cruiser.

It already has the BMR adjustable full length torque arm. I want to get the mount off of the tail shaft housing. Should I drop the coin on a new short arm with tunnel mount or just buy the $250 tunnel mount adapter bracket?

Does the short arm make that much of a difference?

Other relevant items the car has:

Adj LCAs
LCA relo brackets
SFCs
NonAdj Panhard
Viking Dbl Adjustable Rear Shocks
BMR 1.25 rear drop springs
Viking Dbl Adjustable front coil overs
Strange S60

Hello, The short torque arms are geared more towards drag racing and would work very well. However seeing you are 75% street and already have a torque arm I think the relocation kit would be the best bet for you. Our UMI #2207 would bolt right to that BMR torque arm and so would a BMR unit.

I hope this helps,
Ryan

Like Ryan @ UMI said I would recommend just grabbing a torque arm relocation crossmember to go with your existing BMR adjustable torque arm and you will be good to go. With you already having the torque arm and the car seeing more street duty than track duty it will work well for you. If you have any additional questions or if we can help you out with anything let me know.

I've had both. Installation/pictures and initial driving impressions can be found here:

Is the street duty the same as the track duty? If so a short arm may be a better choice. All this will depends on what tire you use. You could sell your current torque arm and put that $250 towards a torque arm that may better suit your needs.

Give us a call and we can go over some details. (309)382-6252

Short arm hits the tires harder. Better for autos, not as awesome with M6 and nitrous.

+1 on keeping long arm and getting it off the tail housing
